Leading the AI Era: Leyard, Unilumin, and Others Pioneer “Display + AI” Integration
By: Wang Xiaolei, LED Display Industry Reporter
AI is taking the spotlight in 2025, and top industry players like Leyard, Unilumin, Shiyuan, Stan, Skyworth, Hisense, and Colorlight are embracing this transformative wave. As AI capabilities merge with LCD and LED display technologies, the industry is witnessing a fundamental shift—from content generation to interactive experiences and scenario-based applications.
Equipping displays with “AI brains” is not just an upgrade—it’s a revolution. AI enhances display quality, improves operational efficiency, and significantly reduces project timelines. From smart power supplies to intelligent modules and HUB interfaces (LED display unit board connections), AI enables smarter data processing, real-time power optimization, and high-efficiency signal transmission, forming a new “energy-saving formula.”
In the field of display control, AI empowers systems to interpret user commands, identify anomalies, generate diagnostics, and predict potential failures—cutting down on after-sales costs and enhancing user satisfaction.
At the recently concluded ISLE 2025, “AI + Display” solutions dominated the exhibition floor, confirming their popularity and expanding the application boundaries of the LED industry.
Leyard: Unlocking Spatial Interactions with AI-Powered Gesture Control
Leyard partnered with its subsidiary, Virtual Point, to deliver an AI+spatial computing showcase. The highlight? A gesture-based, markerless motion capture system (LydCap) that allowed users to interact with virtual objects without wearing motion suits or touching any devices. On-site, attendees could rotate, enlarge, or shrink objects on the screen simply by moving their hands in the air.
The system also featured real-time control of digital avatars, captivating visitors with lifelike AI-driven interactions. This immersive experience exemplified the potential of AI in redefining user engagement.
Unilumin: AI-Powered Screen Robots and Digital Art Integration
Unilumin’s booth featured its eye-catching AI-powered screen robot, which utilizes voice recognition, natural language processing, and multimodal interaction to offer real-time conversations, intelligent guidance, and custom content delivery. The robots can be personalized using brand-specific IPs, creating lifelike immersive experiences across commercial complexes, cultural venues, and corporate lobbies. Compatible with Unilumin’s full LED display lineup (P0.9–P2.5), this solution was a major draw.
The ISLE 2025 organizers deployed four of these screen robots at the main entrance to provide helpful guidance, making them an instant favorite among visitors.
Unilumin also collaborated with Mexican artist Sofia Castellanos to present a groundbreaking AI+LED art installation. Her original static artworks were dynamically brought to life on Unilumin’s ultra-HD displays, offering an unprecedented immersive artistic experience.
Another crowd favorite was Unilumin’s AI-powered virtual concert concept. Through a mix of metaverse technology, high-precision digital avatars, and real-time motion capture, virtual idols could seamlessly perform alongside real-world stages—blurring the line between reality and imagination.
